About HASTG
A youth-centered nonprofit that uses the magic of theater to teach performance, leadership, and life skills. Founded by Broadway performer, entrepreneur, fitness expert, producer, director Nikki Kimbrough, HASTG combines professional arts training with academic development to prepare students for success on stage, school,
and in life.
What Makes Us Unique
Led by Broadway, TV & film professionals

Holistic model: Performance, education, wellness, life prep

Rooted in Harlem: 90% of youth from underserved Harlem communities

Leadership: Nikki holds a B.A. in English (UVA), M.A. in Public Relations (Syracuse University), and brings deep experience in fitness, Broadway performance,
education, and media
Our Roots & Impact
HASTG was born from an after-school
program at Harlem Prep Charter School, led by community leaders Ikay Henry and Linda Hazlett. Nikki Kimbrough was brought in to assist Tony-Award Winner Ben Harney to direct that year's production in between her own Broadway performances. The next year, Nikki took over as the show director and recognized a deeper, ongoing need for consistent, accessible arts programming for Harlem youth.
That’s when she launched the Harlem All-Stars Theater Group, and together the team began building a program grounded in love, excellence, and opportunity.
The spark behind Nikki’s commitment also stems from her own childhood in Richmond, VA, where a local arts educator encouraged her single mother to enroll her in enrichment programs, an act that changed her life.
HASTG is the continuation of that legacy: building spaces where kids can be seen, heard, supported, and celebrated.
